Saosin Show Review
Written: Corey Evans December 20, 2005

Saosin, Avenged Sevenfold, Death By Stereo, Opiate For The Masses
What a way to spend Halloween 2005. One of musics fastest rising stars(Avenged Sevenfold), the next generation (Saosin), and the touring machines that are Death By Stereo and Opiate For The Masses.

No stranger to Opiate For The Masses, these guys are unstoppable touring machines that continuing churning a long in support of their new album "The Spore". Every time I see these guys it has been a solid show, rain or shine, sick or healthy. They have consistently won over every crowd at every show I have seen them too in the toughest spot possible, even in crowds that may or may not be necessarily friendly to their style, they encompass the bull dog attitude that is sorely lacking in most pre-madonna bands expecting fame and fortune handed to them on a silver platter just because they can write a song.

Next up was Death By Stereo, a band that would fall under the 'not really my thing' category, but none the less can put on a show and earn respect none the less. I can only talk out of my ass so long about them since I'm pretty unfamiliar with them.

Newly signed Capital recording artists Avenged Sevenfold, um I mean Saosin were next to take the stage. In their best Avenged Sevenfold costumes, and didn't once mention their real name, Saosin tore through some new tunes off their self-titled EP and forthcoming album, I'm sure confusing more then one drunk person who thought they really were Avenged Sevenfold. A high energy show all around with the band not missing a beat, if their current success is any indication of the future, these guys will be a well oiled album selling machine come the new year.

After some classical tunes from various sci-fi and comic book movies passing the time between set changes, he headliners for the evening included a special appearance by Jesus, um I mean the real Avenged Sevenfold in various costumes to mark the occasion. Arguably one of the hottest things on the scene, whatever scene that may be, the sold out show had everyone crammed in for an hour or so set of mostly tracks from the groups new album "City Of Evil", and had the crowd going full swing most of the night, and down right crazy when "Bat Country" kicked in the highlight the evening and close off the set.

Overall, a set of artists that highlighted the up and coming artists that are having a good year this year, and are poised to be the driving force in mainstream music in 2006.
