History/Mission Statement
Soundnova.com launched in October of 2003, in an effort to provide extensive
daily news from many genres of music. In addition, a stronger initiative
then before was started to provide exclusive content, including interviews,
live photos, articles, road reports, and much more, with more vigor then
before.
Picking up where ThePharmacy and Digital Attak left off, Soundnova.com
offers an exposure to the masses for small bands, but keeps visitors up to
date with news on the already there rock stars. We cover an extensive array
of music including hard rock, metal, punk, hardcore, industrial, electronic,
etc.
The purpose of Soundnova.com is to provide exposure and awareness of smaller
bands that make up the fabric of the underground scene where music with
substance is at its purest form, while keeping the user up to date on their
favorite mainstream acts of today.
With keeping independent and unbiased, as well as unconcerned with genre,
Soundnova offers the ability to appeal to the broadest amount of people
while introducing them to music both new and innovative just waiting to be
discovered.
Corey Evans
Baltimore, MD USA
Having developed the now defunct music e-zines The Pharmacy and Digital
Attak in the past starting nearly three years ago, Corey comes into
developing Soundnova.com with both experience under his belt as well as
constantly learning in the ever changing online and music business
enviroment. Currently responsible for site content and placement, Corey
serves also as the primary writer for the site, as well as sometimes
venturing to the front lines to take photos as well. A recent graduate, he
now dedicates his time to working on the site, working part-time, and
developing his emerging new media company, Sound Squad (Soundsquad.net),
helping develop the online and offline presence of both upcoming and
established artists.
Jeff Jacobs became involved with Corey working on Digital Attak in late 2002. He is currently 3/4 of the way to having a BFA in Graphic Design while also working on Soundnova. Having built a reputation around the new through the once popular, now semi-defunct New-Model.com, Jeff brings experience and quality, bringing the visual aspects of Soundnova.com to life. He currently plays a pivotal roll of designing all graphics and site design.
