New Music: Sevendust - Cold Day Memory

With the return of Clint Lowry, hopes within both the band and amongst fans have been high for what the end result would be for writing his first album with the band since 2003’s Seasons. From the opener “Splinter” onward, I believe Cold Day Memory has delivered positive results.

As driven and hard hitting as ever, “Splinter” is just the tip of an ice berg that reveals as much a return to form as a growth spurt. The hard hitting riffs that have defined Sevendust throughout their career are on full display against more melodic and mainstream oriented cuts such as “Unraveling” and “The End Is Coming”.

Clint has turned in some of his better riffs to date, Lajon is as emotive as ever and one cannot forget John, Vincent and Morgan’s contribute to the end result as well. A little something for everyone is served up.
