PM5k Collide, And Stuff
Let’s be realistic, these guys are down from a fan base of a whole bowl of pop corn to a few kernels left at the bottom. The house was not even half packed when Powerman 5000 rolled to town, but that did not stop them from throwing in another whole-hearted performance.
You have to give this band kudos for still kicking on. I guess if you don’t have a gimmick like cool space suits or something no one is going to care about you. The new Powerman 5000 album drops the ball in a few places but presents strong radio friendly singles on par with the stuff that made people listen to them in the first place.
The group ran through a platter of tracks from “Destroy What You Enjoy” (DRT, out now), mixed in with a sprinkling of tracks that ranged from old school “Mega Kung Fu Radio” to “Transform” and of course all the mega-hits from “Tonight The Stars Revolt!”. While obviously very intoxicated, the group were pretty tight and high energy throughout the hour or so duration of the show.
