Check It: The Chemical Brothers

As we touched on briefly in our July re-hash, The Chemical Brothers are approaching a new milestone in their career. With the nay sayers still waiting for another “Surrender” to raise them from the pessimism, and the young ones like Justice and Digitalism hogging their fair of the DJ spin and doing the Daft Punk thing, the Brothers were in need of an album to prove that ‘has-beens’ is not the most fitting of terms…

…and they delivered. We Are The Night is arguably Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons biggest moment in quite a long while. While none of it will be as big as yester-year when everyone and their mother was hyped on dance music when it comes to Soundscan charts, that isn’t to say that they have made a bold statement. One that is accessible, and most importantly, one you can dance too.

They blend the old with the new while jumping into new territory for them. Going head first into exploring more melodies and teaming up with some talent in The Klaxons, Willy Mason and Ali Love.

End result: A mix of pumping dance floor anthems the likes of which they haven’t touched in in quite a while, and the ‘quiet’ moments to strike the balance.
