New Music: Creedance Clearwater Revival [The Singles Collection]

Ah, Creedance Clearwater Revival. A band that needs no introduction these days, and throughout the decades their catalog has held their own with the best of them. In this newly released double CD/one DVD release succinctly and appropriately titled The Singles Collection.

Within their relatively short life-span from 1967-1972, Creedance Clearwater Revival left an indelible mark on the pop culture music landscape, a fact one can see that with just about five years of being together and producing enough hits that one requires a two disc set.

Completely remastered, mono isn’t going to end up sounding any better then it does here. Classics from “Proud Mary”, “Fortunate Son”, “Bad Moon Rising” and over a dozen more are familiar to the ears of the most casual music listener. A bonus DVD of several music videos provides additional bang for the buck.

Short of purchasing all their albums individually, one is going to be hard pressed to find a better collection that documents one of the more prolific acts to come along.
